We’re really excited to be playing the main stage at Warwickshire’s Monarchy Festival on Saturday 4th July supporting The Happy Mondays, Supergrass and Reverend & The Makers.
It’s a great line-up and we wanna share it with you, so we’re giving away a pair of passes to the festival. All you have to do is send us an email to be in with a chance of winning:
In other news, we’re currently taking a couple of weeks to write and record some new material and then we’ll be back on the road. Exciting news about a new release coming soon…
Tonight we’re playing at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen with Filthy Dukes celebrating the release of their new single ‘Messages’.
Doors are half 7 and we’re on at half 8 so get there early.
ZERO dB CAMPAIGN
On less of a party note, we’ve recently been involved in the Zero dB campaign against music torture.
No, it’s not the latest Scouting For Girls record, this is a really serious issue and we’ve filmed a 5 second silent protest for their website, alongside lots of other interesting people including Elbow, Massive Attack, Julie Christie and Jon Snow!
Thanks to everyone who came down to see us last night at Clwb Ifor Bach, especially everyone who knew the words, you made it a great night for us, diolch yn fawr Caerdydd.
Special thanks to Rumblestrips for inviting us and to Golden Silvers and Everything Everything.
The van journey back was full of love and vomit and singing – you know how we roll.
Tonight we’re back in London for Yo Yo @ Notting Hill Arts Club – send us names for the list if you wanna come…
We’re giving away a free download which is being featured on MySpace Music Specials. It’s a remix of our new song ‘Ask Your Heart’ (you can currently hear our own ‘Echo Mix’ version of the song on our MySpace player or download it exclusively from NME.com’s Daily Download) by Japanese artist Lalory and you can get it here…
You can get an exclusive mix of our new song, ‘Ask Your Heart (Echo Mix)’ only on today’s NME Daily Download.
They say:
“Proof once again that the fabled New Cross scene is thriving (hey – one band every two years [Bloc Party, Art Brut, Klaxons] counts OK?), let us introduce 2009’s brightest hopes from the creative hub and aesthetic bumhole of London: My Tiger My Timing.
Peddling a vaguely tribal electro like a south London Gang Gang Dance, MTMT have been making friends in all the right places. NYPC produced their debut ‘This Is Not The Fire’, Joe Hot Chip is doing the album, and they’re support at Filthy Dukes’ single launch soon (among a handful of dates across the country – details on MySpace).
Plus they’ve dived right in to the usual part-swapping remix orgy, having had their debut redone by Django Django and Tronik Youth and even turned dubstep by Example DJ and Chase & Status collaborator Sam Wire (in a version that admittedly stretches the term to breaking point). This mix is done by the band themselves.”
Last week we recorded 4 songs for John Kennedy’s Xfm Xposure live session…just listening to the radio and it’s been announced for broadcast tonight…can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
Tune in on 104.9FM or online at www.xfm.co.uk between 10pm and 2am tonight (Tuesday 2nd June).
Also we’re supporting Post War Years at their album launch tomorrow night at the Lexington…don’t miss this.
Last week was maybe our busiest yet (apart from maybe when we did our GCSEs but y’know, double maths was hardly a riot), did an Xfm session, played live, presented a radio show and then on Saturday we played at the IndigO2 arena supporting Calvin Harris. Which was fun.
Into June and trying not to give in to Lazyitis with all this sunshine around…we’re supporting the stupendous Post War Years at their album launch on Wednesday 3rd (@ The Lexington) and then the following week we’re off to Cardiff for the Rumble Strips-curated TopmanCTRL at Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on June 10th.
Check out what the ‘Strips have to say on the matter…
My Tiger My Timing are doing a Diesel U:Music Radio takeover LIVE TONIGHT 6-7pm, check it out here.
We have also just recorded an Xfm Xposure session for John Kennedy. Sounds massive, can’t wait for everyone to hear it…
Live Tiger action in June:
03/06 – Post War Years album launch @ The Lexington, London
10/06 – Rumblestrips TopmanCTRL w/ Golden Silvers + Everything Everything @ Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff
11/06 – YoYo @ Notting Hill Arts Club, London

And in July we’re really excited to be playing the main stage at the Monarchy Festival
We’ve returned from the Great Escape with salt in our hairdos and sand between our toes…Ocean Rooms on Friday night was a riot, Brighton is our second home so it was lovely to get back there and breathe the sea air. And to top it all we also got to hang out with Hot Leg, lovely rock n’ roll fellas, talking mainly about darts and alliterating the letter Q…
Lots of people have been asking about our free mixtape so we’ve put it up for download again for 1 week only on our website…sign up to our mailing list to receive news and exclusive content at www.mytigermytiming.com/music.
We’re also really pleased to say that we’ve been confirmed to record an Xposure session for John Kennedy at Xfm at the end of May, listen out…
Anyway, now back happily choking on car fumes we turn our minds towards what is probably going to be the party of the year (or the week at least) at the Queen of Hoxton on Friday – the launch for Plugs’ cracking new single ‘All Them Witches’. Great poster, great line-up…
