My Tiger My Timing are a five piece band from New Cross in south-east London formed in 2008. Their music has been described by NME.com as “tribal electro like a south London Gang Gang Dance” and by Clash as “alternative pop with a dark heart that’s bursting with desire”.
They released 2 singles in 2009 – This Is Not The Fire, produced by New Young Pony Club’s Andy Spence, and I Am The Sound, released on London’s Pure Groove label.
The band have been compared to Talking Heads, Blur and Yeah Yeah Yeahs and were featured on Modular’s Leave Them All Behind III compilation and the recent Kitsuné Maison 8 sampler, alongside bands like Delphic, The Drums and Two Door Cinema Club. They are named after an Arthur Russell song and also contributed a cover of his song, Arm Around You to a tribute album released on the Electric Minds label.
The band have played all across the UK and continue throughout 2010 with a short tour of Germany, a clutch of festival dates over the summer and a UK tour in the autumn. They are currently recording their debut album
